About
I'm privileged to have had a wide range of personal, professional and political experiences in my life, and they've gone a long way to shaping my politics. I grew up rurally in Bala, and am a proud speaker of both English and Cymraeg. I'm a working mum, and manage a national neurological charity's community across Wales. This section isn't exhaustive - if you want to know anything about me, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the Contact form or drop me a text on the number at the bottom of the page.
I moved at 17 to New York to work as a nanny, in the days before widespread internet access. That meant very little communication with home. This experience taught me to be strong, independent and to believe in my own abilities. It also gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in a different culture and to meet people with opposing views to my own. This has stood me in good stead all my life, allowing me to see both sides of an argument, which will be vital when convincing Plaid-minded left-leaning voters that a Welsh Labour Government and Labour MSs still speak in their best interests.
When I returned to the UK from the USA, I worked as a waitress and put myself through business college. I retrained and worked as an Office Manager at various companies in London for 15 years, before moving back home to North Wales.

After managing a Women’s Centre here for several years, I currently work for a national neurological charity managing our community across Wales. My job is to bring members together to campaign for better services, be that via the NHS or local authority. It also involves working with colleagues in the NHS, supporting them to support our members, and I have enormous respect for our frontline NHS staff in all they do.
I am an experienced campaigner, having already stood as a Labour candidate at the 2021 Senedd Election. During the election I managed my own campaign, responding to calls from news outlets including ITV and S4C, doing telephone interviews in both English and Welsh, and taking part in a live online hustings.
As an ordinary, working Mum, I understand the struggles faced by local constituents, such as the need for good quality, stable jobs; secure homes without the risks of landlords selling up and/or converting to holiday lets, a regular and affordable public transport system which includes coverage of the most rural areas, easily accessible local schools, and properly funded statutory services. Voters appreciate relatability in a candidate and during the 2021 campaign, I was contacted by several constituents who trusted me to give them advice, over the out of touch Tory incumbent.
Since moving back home I have embedded myself in the local community. I am the Vice Chair of the Governors at my children’s secondary school, Co-Chair of the PTA - where I help to organise vital fundraising events for the school. I have organised food and clothes collections for a local homeless charity. I also organised a successful petition to fight the removal of a local bus service.
In 2023 I was elected to Labour’s National Policy Forum. As part of the Welsh delegation I argued for further powers to be devolved to Wales, (including the Crown Estate), a review of the funding formula, and that we should receive the HS2 consequentials. These are policies that our First Minister continues to fight for. If elected I would welcome the opportunity to continue to make this case for Wales. I am committed to devolution, and to ensuring that Wales gets the best possible deal under a democratic socialist Welsh Labour Government. I know the difference it makes to families across the country: from my own experience, from the lives of those I've seen in my work in the third sector and managing the Women's Centre, and from my community work. Putting myself forward as a candidate isn't something that comes naturally, but we have to fight for the things we cherish.
